BELINEA 10 60 60
Belinea is a brand name of Maxdata UK and has it's own trade distribution network that it sells it's range of Monitors, Notebooks and PC's in 30 European countries. No small feat for a Company that has only been established since 1997. Including the UK office Maxdata has subsidiaries in Austria, Switzerland, and Netherlands with their headquarters based in Germany. The Belinea 10 60 60 is Maxdata's top of the range 19" monitor. The monitor comes standard with a Flatter Squarer Tube (FST), as opposed to curved shadow-mask monitors. FST technology gives a better focus, less image distortion and a reduction in the negative effects of reflection. The monitor offers a diagonal viewable image of 18", and has a dot pitch of 0.26mm, and had no difficulty dealing with our test resolution of 1280 x 1024 at a refresh rate of 85Hz, supporting a maximum resolution of 1600x 1200 with a refresh rate of 70Hz, not as well endowed as others in the test. As with the Iiyama and Samsung the Belinea has BNC and D-SUB cable support, with a non-captive cable. Monitor controls can be accessed via OSD (on-screen display), providing all the standard functions. In our Set-up Display section the Belinea experienced the same fate as some of the other monitors, namely failing our Dark Screen test with a clear reflection of background images, this is not an easy test to pass at the best of times. It did experience some problems with our Background Interference test, but we were able to manipulate the input cable sufficiently to pass the test. In the Geometry and Distortion section the monitor was spot on, did not encounter any problems and passed first time without any adjustments. In our Sharpness and Resolution test the monitor failed our Horizontal Line Resolution test, we are unable to align the three primary colours to produce a fine picture. All the tests in our Colour and Greyscale sections passed without any problems, allowing the Belinea to score high in our rankings. The Belinea 10 60 60 is certainly not the cheapest in our roundup, at a price tag of £283.00 Plus VAT and a three-year on-site warranty; it is certainly not the most expensive either. The Belinea comes in with a fine set of results. To achieve the highest level of points in our Geometry and Distortion section is no small feat. |
