BELINEA 10 15 30
Belinea is a brand name of Maxdata UK and has it's own trade distribution network that it sells it's range of Monitors, Notebooks and PC's in 30 European countries. No small feat for a Company that has only been established since 1997. Including the UK office Maxdata has subsidiaries in Austria, Switzerland, and Netherlands with their headquarters based in Germany. The model Maxdata elected to supply was the 15" LCD model: 10 15 30, 15" LCD, with a competitive price tag and no optional USB. The packaging was adequate and similar to the ADI with double strength carton, reducing the risk of damage. The packaging aspect may seem rather tedious but transit damage is the single most common cause of faulty monitor's. The multi-lingual users guide was clear and concise with all the basic information to get you connected and operational in no time. Although the Belinea has a larger footprint in comparison to the ADI, it does have the added bonus of being the lightest in our test, at around 4.2kg. The 3-year warranty, which includes the backlight offered with the Belinea, sends a clear signal of grabbing market share and providing value for money, excellent news for those of you wishing to shortlist Belinea. The OSD controls consist of Contrast, Brightness, automatic adjustment of picture- a feature to allow you to set your monitor for a decent image and colour adjustment, fine tuning, horizontal/vertical position, and a host of other controls, of which the Zoom was the most interesting, allowing you to view images that are normally not visible. As mentioned previously the viewable angle is an important consideration, and as such the Belinea can be viewed at a maximum angle of 150(h) x 140(v), combined with a .30 pitch size and a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 @ 85Hz the monitor slots into our desirable category. The image quality was very good. The backlight was even except, for a dim region at the bottom right corner of the panel, and thus failing our background interference test. There were no apparent bright spots, and the colour reproduction was good. The Belinea was easy to swivel and if the angle of the monitor becomes a problem, this can be easily resolved by rotating the monitor with ease. The Belinea has a lot going for it; a competitive street price of £613.00 plus V.A.T, a good set of features, and a 3-year warranty makes it an attractive proposition. |
