INTEL D815EEA Motherboard
Performance
A short while ago we had the opportunity to review ABIT's offering for the i815E chipset in the shape of the SE6. The Intel D815EEA is reviewed with the exact specification with respect to the components used. For those of you not familiar with ABIT we can summarise the companies motherboard reputation with two words "Performance and Tweakability", whilst Intel is not know for its performance or tweaking abilities, it has constantly manufactured stable but quality motherboards (ignoring the i820 MTH scenario). Our first test looks at the 3DMark 2000 tests based on 1024 x 768 which produced a fine result of 6528 marks, which compared with the ABIT SE6 score of 6479 is a fine result. 800 x 600 produces a result of 5933 slightly less than the ABIT SE6 score of 5945, but still a decent turn of speed. Both Winstone 2000 and SYSMark 2000 results show how close the two motherboards are in the performance sections, and does highlight how Intel has changed the design structure of the motherboards to obtain decent performance ratios and keep pace with it's competitors. Overall these scores are excellent for a motherboard manufactured by Intel.
